Autumn has started in the Finger Lakes. The colours of the leaves are starting to change but they are not at their best yet. In 1 or 2 weeks it will be even more beautiful and more colourful. Autumn is one of the top seasons in the Finger Lakes because of the wine festival. There are many wine farms in this gorgeous area. We have fallen in love with the Finger Lakes and we actually bought a ranch with a lot of land on top of Bristol Mountain. Almost next to the ski-lift so very convenient in the winter. From our lot we can directly access many trails suitable for hiking, horseriding, snowmobiling etc. Our neighbour is the Bristol Mountain skiresort so most of the season we will be on our own :-). Really looking forward to see all the wildlife and hopefully I won't kill too many. In a few weeks we will move to this new house and pictures will follow. Our new home will be in South Bristol on an elevation of 700m. If you look at the map below it is located on the left hand side of Canadaigua lake, a little north of Naples. The lakes might look small on this map but they are actually huge.

This weekend Naples organized the Naples open studio days. All local artists had open house to show their workshop and the art they produced. We had no idea there were so many talented artists in the Naples area. Very surprised to also find someone that made very very nice modern furniture because that is hard to find in this area. Most furniture here is very old fashioned.

This is an impression of South-Bristol downtown :-). This is the crowded part of South Bristol....haha. Our new home will be on top of the mountain that you see in this movie.

At this moment we are in Amsterdam in The Netherlands and we are facing the traffic jams again. This is a problem that we really don't have in the Rochester area and certainly not in the counties surrounding Rochester. What a tiny cars.......

We spend 1 week in Holland last week but we didn't have enough time to meet all friends during that 1 week. As always we had dinner with the Vullers family and also celebrated the 95th. birthday of Suzanne's grandmother with the Van Kleef family.

Junior and senior :-)

Below the location of the family Vullers get-together. (herken je het Annemiek?). We had a brunch in an ancient castle which is located in Kessel on the river maas.

Nice view on Reuver from the other side of the river Maas. The family is growing :-). Mother, brothers and sister including their children and now also their children's girlfriends :-)

The weather was still very nice so we were able to enjoy a little sunshine.

God-mother Suzanne with Quinn.Cool little guy, nothing bothers him and he is very relaxed and happy.

On the picture below Zoe, Liz (from Dagmar and Rik), Quinn and Nel (Karen's mother).

I wasn't very popular this time. Our gift scared Zoe and it took quite some time for Zoe to dare sit next to me. Also my joke about taking her with me to the USA she didn't think was very funny at all. Oh well, maybe next time....
